First call of the LIAO HE KOU at BLG AutoTerminal Bremerhaven: Cooperation with COSCO SHIPPING intensifies

With the LIAO HE KOU, a newly built vessel from Chinese shipping company COSCO Shipping has docked in the North Port. This is evidence of further deepening of the partnership between BLG LOGISTICS and COSCO. Back in August 2023, the shipping company performed a successful test call at BLG AutoTerminal Bremerhaven with the COSCO Shengshi.

"We are delighted that COSCO SHIPPING sent the LIAO HE KOU to Europe for its maiden voyage, and that it has docked with us in Bremerhaven. After the successful test run last year, this is another important strategic step to further strengthen and expand our cooperation," says Karsten Dirks, operative Managing Director of BLG AutoTerminal Bremerhaven. "As a major hub for the international automobile industry, we recognize the major role of Chinese imports for our business."

On the occasion of this first call, the team at BLG AutoTerminal Bremerhaven was responsible for discharging, handling and preparation for further transport of almost 1,500 imported vehicles.

With its annual handling, transport and technical processing capacity of more than 1.5 million vehicles, BLG AutoTerminal Bremerhaven ranks among the world's largest automobile terminals. All the major shipping lines for vehicles regularly use Bremerhaven, and every year some 1,000 car carriers arrive at the terminal. On an area covering 295 hectares, the BLG facility offers vehicle manufacturers optimal areas and equipment. We have space for some 70,000 vehicles before they are further transported by road, rail, or waterway. The BLG Group also offers customers technical services in three technical centers.
