SPARE PARTS LOGISTICS FOR THE ENERGY INDUSTRY
In Ludwigsfelde, we have been operating a worldwide spare parts center for gas and steam turbines since 2020. The warehouse space of 34,000 m² is spread over four building sections. Everything from washers to turbine blades and 20-ton housing components are stored, moved and quality-inspected here. In addition to our spare parts operations, we perform laser engraving for our customers as well as returns management and quality inspections.
A special highlight in Ludwigsfelde is the vertical, automatic picking rack system. This enables goods-to-man conveyance for a higher packing performance. Furthermore, the site includes a 30-ton overhead crane that can unload especially heavy and bulky components. There is also an on-site workshop where we construct the packing material needed according to individual requirements.
At another site in Ludwigsfelde, we have been working for a large German automobile manufacturer since 2001. Our activities here cover the entire logistics supply for production and assembly.
For this customer, BLG takes over the complete empties management including sorting and forwarding, management of the trailer yard including provision of unloading modules, approval of the finished vehicles, storage on the shipping area and transfer to forwarders / coordination of railroad loading. We are also responsible for the on-site logistics for axle sequencing.
