BLG Sports & Fashion Logistics GmbH is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Hörsel site this year. To mark the occasion, a colorful jubilee celebration for employees, their families as well as customers and partners took place today on the company premises in the presence of the Minister President of the Free State of Thuringia, Bodo Ramelow, the Mayor of the municipality of Hörsel, Florian Seitz, and the State Representative of the State Economic Senate of the Federal Association of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses (BVMW) Thuringia, Günther Richter.
Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow said on the occasion of the anniversary: "BLG Sports & Fashion Logistics has achieved an impressive development with its location in Hörsel and is consequently a respected player in the industry that can be counted on beyond Thuringia. I warmly congratulate the 25th anniversary and thus a company that represents a solid and promising part of our strong medium-sized business."
On a warehouse area the size of 25 soccer fields, BLG Sports & Fashion Logistics in Hörsel operates the multi-channel fulfillment service for well-known customers from the fashion and sports industry. Around 700 employees process up to 30 million items of merchandise every year, which are supplied from there to customers' stores throughout Germany and parts of Europe.
"As mayor, I am of course particularly pleased to have such a reliable partner as BLG in our community of Hörsel. The cooperation with all decision-makers always runs smoothly. I especially wish the staff all the best for their anniversary, because without a motivated team, successful business operations over such a long period of time would not be possible," emphasizes Florian Seitz, mayor of the municipality of Hörsel.
Since the start-up in 1998, not only the central location of the Hörsel site has proven its worth, but above all the constant and consistent further development of processes and technologies along the changing requirements of the fast-moving fashion industry.
"In 25 years, this location with its dedicated team has developed into an important, indispensable logistics service provider for the sports and apparel industry. As a long-standing member of the German Association of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses (BVMW), I feel the need to pay special tribute to BLG's reliability and expertise in shaping supply chains from the manufacturer, warehousing, con-fectioning to the customer," noted Günther Rich-ter, State Representative of the State Economic Senate of the BVMW Thuringia.
In addition to Hörsel, the BLG Group, which is headquartered in Bremen, also operates sites in Eisenach and Erfurt and has thus been offering its customers individual logistics solutions for many years on an area of over 340,000 square meters with a total of around 1,200 employees in Thuringia alone.
"We are very proud that our Hörsel site is still one of the most important and largest logistics centers of its kind after 25 years. Such a long-standing success would be inconceivable without the motivation and great commitment of our employees - especially to the best satisfaction of our customers," said Dirk Ewers, Managing Director BLG Sports & Fashion Logistics GmbH and Regional Manager Thuringia.
More than 800 guests were on site in Hörsel today and enjoyed a colorful program with offers for young and old. Dirk Ewers emphasized: "With today's anniversary event we want to give something back to our colleagues and especially to the families. I hope that everyone present will have a wonderful and unforgettable family day. They are the basis of our success and more than deserve it!"
